Construction
Construction material manufacturers worldwide depend upon weight measurement to ensure product quality and reliability. From simple go, no-go, detection to full batch processing, force, weight, and web tension measurement factors into lumber, concrete, and roofing shingle production.
Construction applications
  • Batching
  • Weighing
  • Crane scales
  • Overload protection
  • Life cycle measurement
Our Solutions
Precision KIS weigh modules detect minor variances in composite beam products. Based upon finish sheet dimensions, 4 x 4, 8 x 10, etc., precise weighing systems detect occlusion holes or gaps concealed within composite beams. Faulty beams are then removed from the production run.

Kiln dried lumber manufacturers use loss-in-weight measurement to control the seasoning process for plywood, two-by-fours and other building materials. As the “green” wood dries in the kiln, moisture loss is monitored by weight to ensure product quality and consistency.

Robust web tension transducers withstand the difficult conditions of heat, cold, and liquid contamination that are typical in shingle manufacturing machine zones.
