Customer Specifications
Customer expectations include feedback control of gap distance, easy tuning, no collisions between the plates, and communication with a plant wide PLC or DCS system.
Our Solution
The basic system uses a manual, stepper-motor-controlled, hydraulic servo valve with mechanical feedback from the grinding plate and a transducer that measures the disc position. System electronics monitor and control disc gap and wear. The gap can be set either manually or remotely. Plate position is maintained regardless of load variations or loss of power.
We also offer a more advanced electro-hydraulic system with a digital servo position controller, a servo valve, and feedback from position transducers that maintain gap width to minimize disc wear. A pressure loop control also can be included.
Disc Gap Control Systems provide two communication options: analog output or a digital Fieldbus protocol interface.
