STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING — Recommended Components

With aging buildings, bridges and railways, structural health monitoring (SHM) is becoming an increasingly important engineering activity. One of the first standards to address this topic was released in 2001 by ISIS Canada, Guidelines for structural Health Monitoring. This subject is as much about data acquisition as it is about strain measurement. Micro-Measurements data acquisition systems, like System 7000 and 8000 and portable units like the D4 provide convenient and cost effective collection of long term data.
