Selecting and Using Precision Resistors for Strain Gage Shunt Calibration (Demo Video)
This video shows you how strain gage measurement systems can be calibrated electronically using precision foil resistor shunts as an alternative to costly certified weight standards. Shunt calibration is especially useful where circumstances make it impractical or inconvenient to periodically check the accuracy of the bridge circuit. Foil resistors can readily be produced with low TCR and tight tolerance to any 6-digit value to create a precise resistance shunt that simulates the effect of physical weight standards. Drift of less than 2 ppm per year assures long-term accuracy.
