Nobel Weighing Systems
The Nobel brand name goes back in history to 1940 as part of the Swedish Bofors industries. Since then, Nobel established itself as world leader in Process Weighing and Force Measurements. The KIS beam family developed by Nobel became an industry standard for load cells quality with high performance.
Nobel has a product line of uniquely engineered load cells that are designed to maximize accuracy and minimize the effects of mixing, agitation and temperature changes in critical process weighing stages. Its signal conditioners and process control systems are designed to comply with stringent requirements of the chemical, steel, food and pharmaceutical industries, and offer a wide variety of communication protocols used in complex production lines.
The R&D and application center of Nobel Sweden is developing custom design sensors and electronics for weighing and force measurement for variety of applications from backdrop control system in the Paris Opera House to crane weighing in oil rigs.
Nobel Applications Engineers help customers configure the right system for their specific projects and provide extensive technical documentation allowing engineers to ensure a safe and efficient design for their weighing and force measurements needs.
Nobel has thousands of strain-gage-based systems installations worldwide with field service personnel available for installations and repair.
PM Onboard
PM Onboard is a recognized leader in the design, manufacture and servicing of on-board weighing systems for wheeled vehicles ranging from vans and light commercials to heavy trucks and shovel loaders.
As the UK’s longest-established on-board weighing company, formed in the mid 1980’s, it has been providing customers with top-of-the range on-board weighing systems for over 26 years and has been making waste container weighing and ID systems since 1999. The company is BSI registered and is accredited by National Weights and Measures for the accuracy and precision of its weighing instruments.
PM Onboard is headquartered in Bradford, UK, which also houses the company’s specialized departments staffed by electronic and software developers, mechanical CAD designers and service call handlers. The company has additional sales and service offices in Ireland, France, Holland and Belgium and dealers in many other countries around the world.
Revere
The Revere product portfolio, which came to Vishay as part of its 2005 acquisition of SI Technologies, includes both load cells and indicating devices. Though the Revere brand known since the sixties includes single-point, single-ended beam and universal cells, its reputation has been built on a range of medium and high capacity double-ended shear beam, ring torsion and compression load cells. These products are used in a wide range of industrial applications, including in on-board vehicle, “Sale-By-Weight” and Hazardous Area locations. The Revere brand also includes a complete line of high quality weight indicators and instrumentation for the weighing industry.
Sensortronics
Vishay acquired the transducer business of Sensortronics in 2002. Sensortronics, known since the seventies, the premier U.S. manufacturer of alloy and stainless steel load cells for the industrial and process weighing market since the 1980s also provides load cells for the O.E.M. scale market. Sensortronics’ shear beams are widely recognized as the industry’s best for performance and quality. Today, this expertise in manufacturing of a wide selection of load cells allows Sensortronics to remain the “preferred” load cell for many scale manufacturers. The combination of quality and performance for industrial load cells makes Sensortronics a leader in the industry.
SI Onboard
SI Onboard is an industry leader in the manufacturing of on-board weighing systems for forestry, waste management, aircraft and aggregate markets.
SI (Structural Instrumentation) was formed in the late 1960’s, and pioneered the on-board scale industry while simultaneously shaping the on-board weighing market. Later on, SI acquired four more companies: Lodec, Evergreen Weigh, Allegany and Revere. These acquisition expanded the SI product line (aircraft scales, bucket loader scales and lift truck scales) and positioned SI as a top load cell producer having Revere’s leading technology. Dominant in the U.S. and Canada early on, SI Onboard quickly expanded to relevance in Central and South America, and has far-reaching brand recognition in Asia. Synonymous with quality, reliability, and service, SI Onboard stands firm as a recognized market leader. We continue to innovate and develop new products to satisfy the ever-evolving needs of our valued customers
SI Onboard has established an extensive dealer network throughout the world that sells and services its products. In North America, we have sales and service branches in Norwood, MA, City of Industry, CA and Kelowna, Canada.
Tedea-Huntleigh
In July 2002, Vishay acquired Tedea-Huntleigh known since the seventies, with an extensive product portfolio and manufacturing facilities in China, Israel and the UK. The focus of Tedea-Huntleigh was – and still is – a range of single point load cells for retail and industrial scales and bending beams and shear beams for industrial weighing platforms, manufactured to more precise tolerances than many competitors, making them easier to install and calibrate, bringing lower cost of ownership to the user. More recently, the range has been extended to include special weight and force sensors for machinery automation and safety systems, whilst maintaining the reputation for tight tolerances and ease of installation and use.
Vishay Foil Resistors
More than four and a half decades after its invention by physicist Dr. Felix Zandman in 1962, Bulk Metal® Foil (BMF) technology still outperforms all other resistor technologies available today for applications that require precision, stability, and reliability. Vishay's unique, ultra precision Bulk Metal Foil resistor products provide extremely low temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and exceptional long-term stability through temperature extremes.
The Vishay Foil Resistors portfolio comprises products in a variety of resistor configurations and package types to meet the needs of a wide range of applications: discrete resistors and resistor networks in surface mount and through-hole (leaded) configurations; customized chip resistor networks; precision trimming potentiometers; and discrete chips for use in hybrid circuits.
In 2000, Vishay achieved a technological breakthrough with the introduction of Bulk Metal® Z-Foil. Products built on this revolutionary technology deliver an absolute temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of 0.2 ppm/°C. The lower the TCR, the better a resistor can maintain its precise value despite ambient temperature variations and self-heating when power is applied. Vishay Bulk Metal Foil resistors are essentially non-inductive (less than 0.08 micro Henrys) and not capacitive, providing a rise time of about 1 nanosecond, making it particularly suitable for high frequency application. Furthermore, its thermal EMF is less than 0.05 μV/°C making it particularly important for low-ohmic DC applications.
With Bulk Metal® Foil resistors, designers can significantly reduce circuit errors and greatly improve overall circuit performance. By taking advantage of the overall stability, high-frequency performance, and reliability of Bulk Metal® technology we can produce customer-oriented products designed to satisfy challenging technical requirements.
